Trio Systems specializes in the development of computer software products. Founded in 1978, Trio Systems has developed products for vertical market applications and software packages sold through retail channels, including several database management products, and numerous office automation systems.

In 1984 Trio Systems introduced the C-Index database library for C language application development. C-Index was created to meet the need for more powerful and flexible database management capabilities in packaged software sold through retail channels. Since 1984 various versions of C-Index have been incorporated into thousands of applications which are in use today by millions of end-users. Developers using C-Index include Top 10 software companies, Fortune 100 companies, and hundreds of vertical market software publishers.

In 1999 Trio Systems launched SoniClear^® digital audio recording software. Trio Systems has advanced the state-of-the-art in digital recording with a line of SoniClear products focusing on government, legal, education, and business applications.
